Research Interests:

I am currently an undergraduate student majoring in Wildlife, Conservation and Fish Biology at UC Davis. I am on schedule to graduate in June 2020 and will be pursuing a career in the conservation of animals and the environment. Conservation and behavioral ecology has always been my passion.  My interest and focus is the study of birds, specifically birds of prey.  I am very excited to be an intern alongside the graduate students in a research study investigating the impact that secondary exposure of rodenticides have on owls. For this research study I have participated in the dissection of owl pellets. The dissection process included identifying and recording rodents (voles, mice, gophers etc.) that were consumed by the owls. The study also required me to help complete the set up of rodent traps on various agricultural farms located near Davis, California. Moving forward I will be helping the graduate students to gather data on the Barn Owls and their chicks found in nesting boxes at various locations in Davis.
