Undergraduate Student

Wildlife Fish & Conservation Biology, UC Davis

Research Interests:

I am in my 5th year of studies here at UC Davis, and will be graduating this June of 2019 with my B.S. in Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation Biology, as well as double minors in Animal Science and English. My previous research experience revolves mainly around mammals - I was part of the Salt Marsh Harvest Mouse research team here at UCD for part of last year - so I am excited to have the opportunity to branch out and help Shannon with her research on Northern Harriers. I am especially excited to expand my knowledge of the behavioral, reproductive, and movement attributes of these fascinating birds, and raptor ecology and conservation in general. Another campus project I have participated in under mentorship of staff at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, includes leading the development and writing of the newest national 4-H dog husbandry and welfare curriculum, which will be published within the next year. In addition to yearly trips to Yellowstone National Park to observe the behavior of Gray Wolves within the park, in my spare time I enjoy hiking, camping, nature photography, hanging out with my family pets, and serving as an officer for our campus student chapter of The Wildlife Society.
